Packing List Sketch

Whoops!  Where'd I go?

Sorry people, but I'm back!  I'm feeling completely inspired and re-born...must be this whole second trimester thing.  Anyhow, back to inspiration - Pinterest totally does it for me.  I love the imagery and beautiful sensations it gives me.  I would LOVE to do this each time I packed, just a quick sketch:

I'd always be able to glance at it each night and see what I should wear the next day!

And if I could just fit it all (yeah, right) in to this sweet bag:

Life would be good.

Alright, that was a great diversion, but now I've got to get back to patterns and photos.  See you soon!

First shot of the Trench Duffle Carry-On

Here's the first (quick / phone) image!  I took a vintage trench coat and made it in to a carry-on sized duffle.  So far, I am LOVING it!  But, I also realize I may be the only one.  I have a trip coming up, so I'm going to test it out and will let you know how it goes!

SkyRoll - Not Pretty Yet, but Clever

The video above shows the design of the SkyRoll. I'm totally impressed with the idea of this bag, but can't wait until the design gets improved. Or, at least I prefer the Filson look:

or Duluth Trading Co. is nice as well:

Happy Travels!

Online Information - Truly Packable!

Everything you need to know, now on devices that fit in pant pockets!  It is kind of amazing when you stop to think about it.  We are making ourselves able to "have" less, but yet we still consume so much.

Just the inspiration I need to go tackle my basement.

Garage Studio Inspiration

I'm working on my garage studio (well, it's a joint space...the back is a wood-working studio for my husband's hobby and the front is my design studio).  Needless to say, I need inspiration:

And a little bit of fun:

Think I can do it?

Second Bedroom - Clean

I have officially moved every piece of crap (okay, mostly art and school supplies, more magazines - no surprise there - and few cat fur/dust balls...) from the second bedroom/home office to the basement, where I will single-handedly sort through each piece: recycling, garbage, goodwill, or ebay?! So far, so good. I'm going for gold here though. I'm hoping it will look like this in no time:

...or maybe even this (hint hint) =)

Happy thoughts!

Stacks of Magazines

I just got rid of about 30 magazines...and that was only from the stack hidden under the couch (yeah, Husband was not too happy when I pulled that trick!)...I have so many more to go, but it's a start! Or...I could make one of these:

But, I digress...and that's what I can't do with this project. I MUST CONQUER THIS MESS! At least when I buy that next roll of recycled toilet paper, I'll know exactly where all that paper came from!

Beginning

I've decided I have too much "stuff" that doesn't serve a purpose.  My goal: to have a smaller footprint, travel the world with a carry-on or less, still keep fashioning, and make sure every item is packable.  Thus, my new mantra: is it packable?  Here goes!

I'm hoping for a mental dump of crap as well as a physical one.  Goodwill is going to love me.
